Key Details, New Services & Important Action Items

  • Protect Your Can: Mark your new black can with your street address to prevent theft. You are responsible for replacing stolen cans. (Tip: You can use a white paint marker or decals.)
  • Dedicated Cans Only: Starting January 1, 2026, only the new GSD-issued black cans will be collected (one free trash bin provided per household).
  • Need a Second Can? A second may be ordered beginning February 1st. There is a $25.00 Delivery fee per can & an additional $10 Monthly fee applies.
  • Multi-unit Residents? Yes an additional unit can set up. $25.00 Delivery free plus $24.15 Monthly fee applies.

Tote Placement is Important for Both Safety and Efficiency of Service
Please observe the following

  • Please place trash cans in same collection location as before on the same day. There is no change.
  • Please place recycling cans in the same location as before on the same day. There is no change.
  • If your pickup location is in the street, totes are to be placed at the curb
  • If your pickup location is in the alley, totes are to be placed in the alley as close to your property as possible avoiding blocking the alleyway
  • Have totes at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your pickup day
  • Whenever possible, KEEP ALL OBJECTS three (3) feet from the totes
  • Whenever possible, Do not place totes near mailboxes, lamp posts, telephone poles or near parked vehicles
  • Do not place totes under low hanging tree branches or power lines
  • Do not place totes at the curb backwards or sideways
  • Do not place objects on top of totes
  • After your tote(s) are serviced, please retrieve them from the street within 24 hours
